Social Services Database inc. would like to congratulate the attendees at yesterday's Job Expo, hosted by South Georgia Coalition for Employment. We also would like to thank Alonzo Atkins our Outreach Coordinator for putting the program together and Cristolyn Ingalls for doing the orientation and transportation.
One of the attandees gained employment as a Nursing Assistant. Two other attendees were offered employment with The City of Valdosta, and one attendee was granted entry into the EMT Program for the City of Valdosta to become a certified Paramedic.
Three attendees enrolled into Wiregrass Technical College for the summer quarter.
In all, twenty-three individuals were transported. We are proud of all those that were willing to go the extra mile and seek employment. The jobs are our there and, as they say in the 12 Step Program, "Ya gotta wana!"

Children's Interactive Mental Health Program

Come and bring your child to learn about mental health and participate in interactive workshops about coping skills.
NAMI Georgia's Annual Conference will be held April 20-21 at Mercer University in Atlanta. This conference will have multiple sessions, workshops, and speakers giving educational presentations on various topics surrounding mental health. This year, we will incorporate "Children's Day", which will involve interactive educational learning models (i.e. art therapy, dance, yoga, pets, music, etc.) catered towards children ages 3 - 13 accompanied by their parents. Please find the flyer attached with additional information on Children's Day.
Scheduled at Northside Baptist Church in Valdosta on April 21st from 10am-12pm. This is for children ages 4-18. Online registration is happening now and will end on April 18th at 5pm. The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), Division of Behavioral Health is pleased to announce that it will again host a two-day Behavioral Health Symposium on OCTOBER 4 & 5, 2018 at Lake Lanier - Legacy Lodge and Conference Center to inform professionals about best practices in the delivery of behavioral health services and supports.
