VALDOSTA – Walgreens pharmacists will administer free flu shots for the underinsured or uninsured, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m., Nov. 18, Community Soup Kitchen, 601 N. Lee St.
On Tuesday, November 24, Second Harvest of South Georgia will distribute nearly 2,000 food boxes to those in need in the Valdosta area. For $5, you can ensure that 1 family has food this Thanksgiving. You have the opportunity not just feed bodies but to feed the hope that tomorrow will be better than today. Each box contains 20 pounds of food and will, with very little supplementation feed a family of 4 for approximately a week. Boxes will be distributed at Valdosta High School beginning at 8 am and continuing while supplies last.

VALDOSTA — The Sons of Solomon #151 and Electa Chapter #323 host their annual Day of Caring, Sharing, and Giving, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, St. John AME Church, 800 W. Magnolia St.
The menu includes turkey and dressing with giblet gravy and all the trimmings.

THANKSGIVING FOOD FEST!
Planning is on the way for 100 Black Men of Valdosta, Inc.'s Annual Thanksgiving Food Fest, slated for Saturday, Nov 21, 2015, at the Salvation Army building, corner of North Troupe St. and Valley St. (Across the from the Valdosta Daily Times building). During the 2014 Food Fest close to 1,000 plates of turkey, dressing, green beans, cranberry sauce, etc. were served to citizens of the local community. Getting Ready for our Ninth Annual Feeding our Community Event. November 26, 2015 11am-1pm. Each year we feed over 300 friends, family, elderly and those in the military on Thanksgiving Day. This is the time we reach out for any contribution to help defray some of the associated cost. We need lightly used clothing, coats, blankets, boots, and socks for families in need. Dinner will be served, Turkey, Ham, and all the trimmings, Free Giveaways, Fellowshipping, and Dining as one 'BIG' family. We look forward to celebrating with you.
