SocialServicesDatabase.com℠ has grown tremendously. We went live in March of 2015 with the 23 pages of information gathered for Lowndes Area Crisis Care that opened its doors in December 2014. 5 months later, there are over 270 pages, 3 domain names and 3 different websites. One website is consumer information, one is for the support of providers and one for this new Heartward Bound Blog and store where 100% of the profit is used to support the database.
SocialServicesDatabase.com℠ has had 4553 visitors since its inception 3655 were from different people; 898 came back for more information. Bobbie Michelle began by doing all of the research herself. Now there are six social workers feeding her information, one is from DFCS and sent her resource manuals from 16 counties!!!
Not only are local agencies requesting to be posted on the database, agencies from Macon to Atlanta are sending in requests. The board of Social Services Database (SSD) realizes the limited resources of South Georgia and that consumers are not adverse to travel South to Jacksonville and Gainesville, as far North as Atlanta and as far West as Birmingham Alabama. Because of this, we recognize the need to grow and build until we cover the Tri-State area.
We have grown far beyond the point where one person working diligently on her computer can keep up with the mounting data. It would take years to put in the data that has already been gathered, yet more data floods in!
It is past the time when a few volunteers can work a handful of hours to keep up. With the thousands of website visitors and the dozens of agency requests, it is necessary to have additional full-time or part-time volunteers. Please volunteer by using the contact form.
